The Problem

What Techologie Needed

Techologie, an Orlando-based electronics trade-in company I founded, needed a digital marketer to create ad content for Meta campaigns, identify which ad copy and images would perform best, and run ongoing optimization strategies to keep costs low.

Their goal was to generate consistent, qualified leads through Facebook Messenger that could be passed to their sales team and converted into same-day cash transactions.

KPIs & Metrics

How I Measured Success

The funnel was structured as:
Feed → Click → Message
I tracked key metrics at each stage of the funnel to evaluate performance:

CPM

Why?

A low CPM meant the ad was being delivered efficiently. Keeping it low stretched the daily budget further and got the creative in front of more people.

CTR & CPC

Why?

CTR and CPC told me whether the ad creative was resonating. A higher CTR/CPC meant the image and copy were stopping the scroll and compelling people to take action.

Results (Messages) & Cost Per Lead

Why?

Every message was a potential deal. Keeping the cost per lead under $5 ensured the campaign stayed profitable relative to the average transaction value.

My Approach

5 Ads. One Winner.

I created five ad variations, each featuring a different iPhone color on a bed of cash with a handwritten “We Buy iPhones” note, to identify which visual resonated most with the target audience. The scroll-stopping combination of bright product colors and the visual cue of cash was intentional.

The red iPhone + green post-it on a cash background (Ad 3) drove the most messages.

What I Did

The Process, Step By Step

Created 5 ad image variations from scratch

Designed five different ad creatives featuring iPhones in different colors on cash backgrounds with handwritten notes. I then edited contrast and brightness settings to make the colors pop and maximize scroll-stopping impact on mobile feeds.

Set up the campaign with precision targeting

Configured Meta Ads with custom audience settings, placement targeting, and device settings highly geared toward finding people most likely to have an old iPhone they’d want to trade in for cash. All ads ran in the same ad set for a clean A/B test.

Ran a 5-day A/B test, then cut the losers

After 5 days, I turned off all ads running above a $5 cost per message, the target benchmark for the campaign. This freed the daily budget to flow toward the ads that were already performing, compounding their results.

Managed the pipeline through Meta Business Suite

Oversaw inbound Messenger leads as they came in, qualifying them, setting appointments, and supporting the sales team in closing deals. Over 30 days, the ads spent $205 and generated $5,159.92 in revenue for the business.

Why It Worked

The Decisions That Drove Results

01

Scroll-stopping creatives. Using the bright red iPhone and the high-contrast green Post-it against cash created an image that stood out in a way that’s hard to scroll past.

02

Contrast-edited visuals. Manually boosting contrast and saturation on the ad images made the colors hit harder on mobile screens, increasing the chance someone stopped scrolling long enough to read.

03

Budget consolidation through pruning. Turning off underperformers freed capital to double down on the winning ad. This compounded results without increasing the daily budget.

04

Right audience, right placement. Targeting settings, placement choices, and device filters were dialed in to reach the most likely sellers, not just broad interest audiences, keeping lead quality high.
